Billie Jean King: One of the greatest tennis players of all time and a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient for her advocacy for women in sports and LGBTQ rights, Billie Jean King won 39 Grand Slam titles in her tennis career and led the fight for equal pay in tennis. Known for beating Bobby Riggs in 1973’s “Battle of the Sexes,” King also helped establish the Women’s Tennis Association, the organization that oversees women’s professional tennis.

He was the co-author of the PEP Program in Congress and first to expose the ‘Inactivity Pandemic’ negatively impacting our nation’s physical health and mental well-being. Inducted into two sports industry hall of fames, he also led the tennis industry to increase participation to 30 million players. PHIT America programs are in 1500 schools and have helped nearly 1M kids get active.

and yoga, helping them develop in body and mind. Kids learn balance, focus, strength,
flexibility, and resilience . . . on and off the court. Award winning mentorship programs
and college advisory services.
Provides year-round opportunities for
Wilmington area youth on and off the tennis court. RodneyStreet combines athletics,
academics, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programming,
field trips and character-building activities. Mission is to foster a lifelong love of tennis
and learning.
Promote and develop the sport of tennis in Lancaster County by
offering programs that teach life skills through a lifetime sport that emphasize the
importance of sportsmanship and teamwork and provide opportunities for competition.
Tennis Central, along with community partners, provides year-round educational,
instructional and competitive programs for thousands of youth. The majority of the
programs are provided at minimal or no cost ensuring access for everyone.
